About the

HigherEdSocial Community

The original HigherEdSocial community was founded in May 2015 (that makes us a Gemini) on Facebook as a place to bring together social media managers who had taken positions at colleges and universities. It has grown to be the largest and most recognizable community of digital communication & higher ed professionals in the world.

Meet The Founder

Kasandrea Sereno Ed.D

Hi! My name is Kasandrea and I am a college advisor from Tampa Florida. I am passionate about technology, education, marketing and brand management, and love helping colleges leverage these to better reach their students.

I founded HigherEdSocial after noticing the lack of training and support  for social media professionals at colleges and universities. Some of the biggest educational brands in the world had online presences that were lacking, and worse yet the folks managing those profiles had no where to turn when things got difficult. So our clubhouse was born. In the past five years we are proud to have become the largest international organization and online home for social media professionals to receive advice, collaboration opportunities and training to level up their practice.

Come join our community on Facebook, follow breaking news on Twitter, learn tips and tricks over on Instagram, connect in our LinkedIn group, dance with us over on TikTok, chill with us on Spotify, check out our webinars and demos on Youtube, and stop collaborate and listen on Slack. We are glad you’re here.
